Soap bubbles are beautiful, aren't they?
Especially when your love blows them...

that was a strange dream indeed...

But it's good to see people who are interested in little beauties in this darn world.

snow in london. it's bittersweet.
the sky turns magical colours. purple, to pink, to orange to a golden yellow.
it's nature's changing moods. you can smell the earth when it snows.
that doesn't happen that often, not below the concrete, asphalt, tar and pavement.
and you realize, we're all from the earth, and it will never leave us.

it was a while ago. and we were driving by the waterfront. there is a lot of old broken docks and random cement platforms in the water. two people were on one. this guy was just playing guitar. he had an amp and everything. what a lovely not a concert concert. i wonder how they got the guitar and amp up there. it was wonderful.

I just joined....you don't have to ask permission for that sort of thing, do you? I read you're looking for new people on the recent entries....I'm new, if you couldn't tell. I really like the idea of your community, and I'll post a lot if you like.

Yesterday, I was filled with the strangestbeauty. It was gray and rainy and I could not believe I was so lucky to be wherever I was. I am so happy to have finally come back to California. I danced in the rain, walked around town doing errands, sang 'Blister in the Sun' for three blocks and yelped at the sky (I didn't want to howl for fear of scaring the nice lady heading to the car with her groceries). Some people avoided me, a few smiled and exchanged greetings and made small talk, most hurried by because it was wet and rainy and they were in a rush. There were not a whole lot of people out, even for a small town.

This morning all the vinyards around my house were misty and foggy and covered in green green grass.

i was just looking out the window, as i tend to do, and i saw some people walking out amongst the snow. there was this younger woman, probably in her thirties, and she was walking with an elderly couple (her parents?). an old woman who was rocking back and forth a little, in an almost crazy manner, and an old man who must have been her husband. he was walking right next to the older woman, supporting her. his arm was around her shoulder. it was an "aww" kind of moment. i love watching people; it's my favorite thing in the world next to chocolate cake.

Everywhere I go lately seems to be beautiful. I just adore Autumn. The colours and the atmosphere.

Today I was standing at the train station, alone, waiting for a friend. Hardly the most tranquil setting, but I let my mind switch off to the noise of the motors around me. The air was... almost warm, yet the ground was soaked from rain and the sky was grey. The colours of Autumn just take my breath away.

At that moment, I was just 'being'.

I like that.

hello!

as someone else said before... i love the concept of this community and so decided to join. and i see that there i have many interests in common with the ones listed. i wish i had some moment or place of beauty to contribute but for now let me say that songs can sometimes make moments truly magical. (i know i'm being soppy and sentimental, but please forgive) and truly heartfelt songs like "let go" by frou frou are an example. hmm.. this is turning out to be a rambling post. oh! i just thought of a moment of beauty but it's in a movie, monsoon wedding.

the character, dubey, walks dejectedly to his house, which is very dingy and small. his mother begins lecturing him and nagging him about getting married and starting a family. he trudges to the bathroom, strips to his underclothes, washes his hands and feet and walks out to the verandah leading from his house, ignoring her caustic monologue.
we see the vista he sees: the jumbled, antiquated skyline of bombay, prickling with antennas and clotheslines. it sounds ugly but you see some kites flown by the neighborhood kids fluttering, and some bougainvillea waving in the breeze, and a gorgeous pink and orange sunset. you can sense the freedom, the color, the vibrancy, the possibility in that moment, that instant of life.

haha, ok, now that i've made a total ass of myself, i hope you enjoyed the post. and i like that this community seems cozy and small. ;)

Rainbow of a Half-Light [Sep. 30th, 2004|05:43 pm]

I was getting ready for school this morning, and I went to the den to print out a paper that was due today. The windows were open, and the first thing I noticed when I walked in the door was the light. It was a sort of pale gray...only a sort of half-light. Not strong enough to really bring out the color of anything. It just looked so beautiful...I thought I should share. That light put me in such a good mood that morning.
